MY JOURNEY

FROM WESTERN MEDICINE…

Upon graduating from the University of Michigan’s Nursing Program in 1995, I began my career at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago, specializing in Pediatric Neurosurgery. My path then led me into Sports Medicine, where I gained a deep understanding of the body’s musculoskeletal system while working with one of the area’s leading Orthopedic Surgery Practices. A remarkable opportunity later brought me back to neurosurgery, where I had the honor of leading the development of the country’s second Gamma Knife Program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Collaborating with a dedicated team of Neurosurgeons, Radiation Oncologists, and Physicists, we performed non-invasive procedures for patients with brain tumors, vascular malformations, and facial pain.

I then moved back to Michigan and joined William Beaumont Hospital (now Corewell Health) working as a Case Manager to facilitate discharge planning and continuing care, where I found deep fulfillment in helping patients and families transition their loved ones home with the right care and support.

…TO EASTERN MEDICINE

Over the years, I felt a growing pull toward a more holistic approach — one that would honor the emotional, mental, and spiritual aspects of healing alongside the physical. This shift deepened my desire to explore ways of healing beyond the scope of traditional western medicine. It is this holistic perspective that has become the heart of my work, allowing me to help others heal on a deeper level and offering peace, comfort, and emotional support to both patients and their families.

After years of earning my credentials and completing advanced attunements in Reiki energy healing, I began to recognize and harness my intuitive abilities to a greater extent. In practice, I discovered that I could deeply communicate with the energy within the body, allowing me to hear, see, and sense precisely what required attention.

This heightened awareness enabled me to transcend traditional Reiki techniques, leading me to develop a specialized and highly personalized approach to healing that uniquely integrates my natural gifts in energy healing. In 2009, I founded PurReiki in Metro Detroit, where I spent a decade helping people heal on physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. It was during my work with hospice patients, easing their pain and suffering, that I truly saw the profound potential of energy healing for end-of-life care to support a peaceful and loving transition.

I am deeply grateful for the gift of this work and feel honored to assist patients and their families in moving forward with love, spiritual comfort, and compassion.
